Wu Jia Zhuang Claypot Hokkien Prawn Noodle 吴家庄砂煲福建虾面 @ Siam Road Penang

I'm really a big fan when it comes to Hokkien Mee, something which is commonly known as Prawn Noodle in other states of Malaysia.

Hokkien Mee is quite a signature hawker food in Penang and you can basically find it anywhere around Penang.
Some restaurant owners like Wu Jia Zhuang decided to bring this Penang's signature street food to a whole new level, which is Hokkien Mee in claypot

Wu Jia Zhuang is located at a hidden street in Penang, Jalan Siam (Siam Road). There is another hidden gem but rather famous Char Koay Teow @ Siam Road but it is on the other end where it is near Anson Road.

This Hokkien Claypot Prawn Noodle is charging at RM12.90 nett per pot. I would consider this pot of Hokkien Mee is rather reasonable with 2 medium big prawns, 2 pieces of pork ribs, some roasted pork and one whole braised egg. What I really like is their homemade fried onions, unlike what other people usually buy the ready pack which tasted totally different. The soup was rather flavourful with a rich aroma of prawn soup, but one thing I'm not really into was the noodles were a bit overcooked in the hot boiling soup in the claypot.

Other than Hokkien Mee, Wu Jia Zhuang is also serving Chinese dishes(Zhu Char 煮炒) where you can order from the menu. Price range is from RM10.00 up to RM80.00 depending on what you order. They also serve seafood like crabs, mantis prawns, squids and many more.
