Reopening of Santorini Cafe @ Jalan Burmah, Penang

I believe a lot of us Penangites were shocked when we found out that Santorini Cafe at the Burmah Road has met a tragedy months ago. It is such a heartbreaking news to hear that my favourite cafe have to close due to the accident.

But the other day when I drove passed Burmah Road, something has caught my attention and brought me to cheer! It is none other than the reopening of Santorini Cafe after months being closed for restoration! I quickily stopped my car and walk into the cafe just to have the food again! I've been missing the food for months!

After months being away, Santorini Cafe has been restored and looking brand new!

Santorini Cafe is now much more spacious and more comfortable too. It gives the cozy feeling that would welcome anyone that step into the cafe. But it is such a bad news that all the souvenirs that have been used to decorate the cafe are all gone with the fire.

The newly launched menu has kept some of the signature dishes from last time while also introduces new items on the menu. Nevertheless, I'm still very attracted to all the dishes that I had before the cafe closes.

One of the must try and also their signature drink is this Coffee Jelly(RM4.80). It is available in hot or iced version but I would always go for the iced version. Not only the coffee is good but also the jelly inside the coffee is my favourite too!
I like the chewy coffee jelly very very much that every time I would order the same drinks whenever I visit last time! Thank god the recipe is still the same!

I was pretty attract to this dish on the menu, Drunken Mee Suah(RM9.80) as I really like something hot and starchy. And it did not fail to impress me with the portion, it is really big and one portion itself is enough for a meal. I really like the fragrant of the Chinese cooking wine that made the mee suah rather flavourful, and the seafood added were rather fresh too.
Look at the size of the prawn you get for a portion of mee suah at only RM9.80!

Next is the dish that I would really miss and would really die for!
None other than their best seller and also their signature Tong Guai Chicken Chop(RM13.80). I believe those who have tried this dish would fall in love with this dish in an instant!
The well marinated chicken chop with their homemade tong guai sauce gave people an unforgettable taste that you can't find it in anywhere else, furthermore a plateful of this delicious chicken chop is only selling for RM13.80!
I'm really missing this and getting hungry while writing this!

Let's go back to Santorini Cafe and rebuild the memories that we have left last time!
Not many cafe these days can really maintain their food quality while offering an affordable menu, Santorini Cafe has done it since the past and still doing it today. It deserves our supports and value for our money!
