When it comes to Putien restaurant, it is all about good food and great memories especially this is a perfect restaurant for family gathering or bringing important guests for a good treat.
Special thanks to Putien management for inviting us again and let us try some of the new seasonal dishes with the new premium Buddha Jumps Over The Wall dish available on their menu.
Being one of the most premium dishes on Chinese cuisine, Fatt Tiew Cheong 佛跳墙 Buddha Jumps Over The Wall is definitely the kind of dish that you should try at least once in your lifetime.
Fatt Tiew Cheong 佛跳墙 Buddha Jumps Over The Wall cooked with 8 types of premium ingredients and Chinese herbs and simmer over low heat for 10 hours to make this bowl of perfectly nutritious soup. Priced at RM288.60
The special thing in Putien is that they will add a shot of MaoTai(Chinese White Wine) to further enhance the flavour of the soup and it is really good. Portion is really big and enough to feed more than one mouth.
Fatt Tiew Cheong 佛跳墙 Buddha Jumps Over The Wall consists of Nanri Abalone, Sea Cucumber, Dried Scallop, Shark's Fin, Deep Sea Fish Skin, Suizhou Mushroom, Pork Tendon and Pigeon Egg.
(南日鲍鱼、大连海参、干贝、黄金鱼翅、深海鱼皮、随州花菇、猪脚筋与鸽子蛋)
Another seasonal special would be their Mudskippers 跳跳鱼 that is imported all the way from Putien, Fujian.
Available in three cooking style, you can choose to have it in deep fried, which is my favourite among all, or have it braised or in soup.
With lightly salted and spiciness from the pepper, the mudskippers are fried until very crispy and you can basically consume the whole fish except the head. I was expecting the some fishy smell from this fish as we all know that mudskippers taste kinda muddy but surprisingly it is not fishy at all.
The one with Tender Bean Curd version is the one that is soup version where you can enjoy hearty fish soup that goes well with your meal.
The Braised version is the flavourful version where you can have it with Putien's Signature vermicelli noodle. It is the perfect pair with the sauce rich in flavour.
Seaweed Egg Drop Soup (紫菜蛋花汤)
All time favourite and one of the most popular dishes - 风味松鼠鱼 Deep Fried Squirrel Fish
It is always my favourite with the sweet and sour sauce that makes my meal very appetising and for someone who don't really know how to eat fish like me would be perfect because I wouldn't have to worry about getting choke by fishbones.
If you are bored with the local Penang Oyster Omelette, you can give this Fujian Fried Oyster Omelette 福建海蠣煎 a try as it is very flavourful and they also added quite a lot of scallions that makes it really enjoyable.
PUTIEN Sweet & Sour Pork with Lychees 莆田荔枝肉
Definitely a must whenever you visit Putien restaurant. It is always my top favourite as it is something that you can't find in any other restaurants.
Overall it is another great dining experience getting to try some of the new dishes available in Putien restaurant. It is always the kind of restaurant that suitable to dine with your friends and family when it comes to organising gathering or any celebrations.
