Here’s what we had during our supper session — and trust me, every dish was worth the calories.
Fried Rice with Roasted Pork & Salted Egg (黄金烧腩肉炒饭) - RM22.80
We kicked things off with this fried rice and it totally delivered. The rice was fragrant and perfectly wok-fried, with crispy roasted pork belly and bits of salted egg that added richness and a slight crunch. Every bite was packed with flavour and had that slightly smoky aroma. A solid, comforting choice that hits the spot.
If you’re into bold, punchy flavours, this one’s for you. The Szechuan Spicy Chicken came chilled and super tender, soaked in a spicy, aromatic sauce that had just the right amount of numbness from the Szechuan peppercorns. Topped with crushed peanuts and sesame for extra texture. It was tangy, spicy, and absolutely addictive.
Spicy Frog Congee (干锅牛奶田鸡粥) - RM23.80
This might sound like an unusual combo, but don’t knock it till you try it. The congee base was creamy with a light milky aroma, and the frog meat — cooked in dry pot style — had a spicy, slightly charred flavour that mixed perfectly into the porridge. It was warm, flavorful, and seriously comforting. A twist on congee I didn’t know I needed, especially if you are dining here on a rainy day.
Final Thoughts
Mott 9 really surprised me with how well-executed each dish was. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty plate of fried rice, a spicy cold dish, or something unique like frog congee, this place has you covered. Plus, the cozy vibes make it perfect for chill late-night hangouts or solo supper runs.
