Celebrate Together: Grand Lunar New Year Reunion Dinner at Olive Tree Hotel

This year, Olive Tree Hotel is leaning into that spirit of refined celebration. For the eve of the Lunar New Year (16 February 2026), Chef Sky Hee and his culinary team have designed an 8-course Reunion Menu, where each dish is not only crafted with fresh, quality ingredients and refined techniques, but also thoughtfully paired with auspicious names and blessings.

What I appreciate about Chef Sky’s approach is the intentionality. Each dish isn't just a course; it’s a symbolic wish for the new year. From the "smooth path" represented by the ginger chicken to the "abundance" of the abalone, the meal serves as a delicious roadmap for a prosperous 2026.

Whenever it comes to Chinese New Year meals, it has became a trend that most people will start it with some tossing ceremony. Calling out all the auspicious words and blessing hoping that it will be a great year ahead. Olive Tree Hotel has crafted their own version of Yee Sang using most of the fresh ingredients and avoided those processed ingredients. Making it extra refreshing and delectable. 

(瑶柱迎春福满堂) 瑶柱鱼鳔鸭丝羹 - Fish Maw Chowder with Dried Scallop & Shredded Duck Welcomes spring and blesses the home with prosperity

This kind of soup is always diners' favourite. Imagine sitting in a hall with full blast air-conditioning, a bowl of warm and thick soup like this would simply be perfect. Their version is kinda special as they have added shredded duck that makes it tasted more savoury too.

(葱油泼出锦绣途)沙姜葱油走地鸡 - Aromatic Ginger Free Range Chicken with Onion Oil Symbolises a smooth and flourishing path ahead

This dish actually gave me a wow. The homemade ginger scallion sauce is very unique but extremely fragrant, topped with crispy sliced ginger makes the whole dish rather playful. They use free range chicken so it is extra chewy and tender.

A golden feast with jade greens, welcoming a year of abundance

This dish pairs tender, slow-braised abalone in two distinct styles with vibrant greens—a "Gold and Jade" representation of a home filled with treasure. It’s a well-balanced highlight that delivers both deep, savory richness and a fresh, clean finish to the palate.

(脆米腾香春意沸)浓汤脆米海鲜泡饭 - Seafood Bisque in Oriental Crispy Rice 

The rising aroma of crispy rice heralds the arrival of spring

Among all the other dishes, that one dish that doesn't look very good but surprisingly the best among all other courses would be this Seafood Bisque in Oriental Crispy Rice. 
The texture, the taste and the perfect blend of everything together makes it really flavourful and put a great ending before dessert.

A sweet ending filled with blessings and joy

Diners would be delighted to find that you get to enjoy unlimited servings of mouthwatering desserts on the dessert section. Highlight over 20 types of cakes, jelly, pudding, soups and many more.

The meal also comes with free flow of Chinese Tea, Coffee, Tea & Cordial

Adding to the festive celebration, the atmosphere comes alive with a vibrant line-up of cultural performances and interactive experiences. 

Guests will be entertained by a Lion Dance performance by Xuen Kang Sports Cultural Centre, a captivating Chinese Orchestra performance by Joyous Chinese Orchestra, 

and live Chinese calligraphy demonstrations, where guests receive auspicious couplets by Mr Joseph Yeap, along with other interactive activities throughout the evening.

For those seeking a more intimate celebration, private dining rooms are available upon request, subject to an additional surcharge of MYR200 per booking. A minimum of five (5) days’ advance booking is required for the Reunion Dinner 8-Course Set.
