The Season's Greatest Spread at the Iconic Eastern & Oriental Hotel

Ho! Ho! Ho! It is the time of the year we all celebrate the season with joy, togetherness and of course, a GRAND FEAST when you gather with your friends and family. 
Can't believe the year of 2025 ended so fast and we are so close to another jolly season again. 

This year at the Eastern & Oriental Hotel, we are talking about the grandest feast in Penang, celebrating with over hundred of dishes available on the buffet spread, or if you prefer a more romance and private space, you could also consider their fine dining options available. 


If you want to start your meal light, then grab some greens and make your own salad with the dressings and condiments provided. You can always create your own good version of salad and share with your friends for something light before the heavy meals.

Alternatively, you can straight away dive in to their well mixed appetisers which some are really refreshing and unique. Such as the Pear Salad with Blue Cheese & Walnut, Vegetable Antipasto Platter and Roasted Pumpkin and Charred Onion Salad with Pesto Dressing. All these were unique and appetising.


On the Charcuterie, you can have Chicken Galantine with Apricot Chutnet, Salmon Gravlax Platter and Shaving of Beef with Vegetable Pickles, Grain Mustard and Honey Sauce.
Had to say that beef slices were really tender and good.

On the Poached Crustacean:
Alaskan Crab | Whelk | Scallops | Green Mussels | Slipper Lobster
Freshly Shucked Oyster | Periwinkles | Prawns | Black Mussels
served with lemon wedges, cocktail sauce, tabasco, kikkoman, tartar sauce

If you are into Japanese, you can have their salmon slices, tuna slices on the sashimi platter or even some assorted sushi available. Best with Japanese soy sauce and some wasabi.

Everybody knows that E&O has their own great bakery. Hence, you can also enjoy the great bakery on the buffet spread as well. Perfect when you pair it with a bowl of hot soup such as Creamy Mushroom Soup or Seafood Chowder


On the Carvery section you can find some of the most succulent and tender roasts available.

Now moving on to the dessert section we were surprised by a nicely crafted Olaf from the movie "Frozen", it is so cute and welcoming.

Assorted Christmas Cookies are also some must have, especially the crescent moon cookies.

Christmas Fruit Cake, Panettone and all sorts of tarts are always Christmas signatures.

And of course we would not forget some great Yule Log Cake, they are always cute and chocolaty. Assorted Cup Cakes, pavlova with fresh berries are always great to end your meal.


Big fan of chocolate? Time to grab some marshmallows or some fresh fruits to dip in those drizzling Chocolate Fountain!


I always love a nice and colourful macaroons, even though I am not a sweet tooth but I will always grab one or two whenever I see them on the spread. Perhaps it is only the sweet thing I like on dessert section.
