Pan Mee (板面）is actually a Hakka style handmade noodles that should be made and consume fresh.
It is kinda sad that we can't really find a lot of stalls selling Pan Mee in Penang but whenever I spotted one, for sure it will be my first choice.
Recently I've drove through Chow Thye Road and noticed that there's this new Face To Face Noodles House Chain Outlet opened around this area. It has officially taken over the shop lot that used to be JanDex Vegetarian Restaurant.
It's been a while since the one in Times Square Penang closed down and since that I couldn't really find any good Pan Mee around town area. Honestly I'm really happy that they got this new outlet here in this strategic locations. Only parking will be a pain in the ass during weekdays afternoon.
My order was simple, a bowl of "Loh Pan Mee" at RM8.50 each (combination of Pan Mee & Loh Mee). It was rather good as I get to taste Loh Mee whereas I can also have Pan Mee in my bowl. The noodles was rather springy and texture was just perfect to my liking. Portion was good for one person too. I also completed my meal with a bowl of Sweet Leaves with Egg Soup (RM4.30), portion is good for sharing.
It was indeed a pleasant surprise that I can have good Pan Mee again at somewhere so near my place.
Not forget to mention that Face To Face Noodles House 面对面板面专卖店's Pan Mee is rather creative that they kinda localized their Pan Mee in a sense that they came out with Sizzling Pan Mee, Loh Pan Mee, Vegetarian Pan Mee and many more.
