Selera Kampung Buffet Dinner @ Sarkies, Eastern & Oriental Hotel

Talk about Ramadhan Buka Puasa Buffet, one of the restaurants that offers the most variety of food would always be Sarkies in Eastern & Oriental Hotel.

This year E&O Hotel is offering their Selera Kampung Ramadhan Buffet available from 6th June 2016 to 5th July 2016 to celebrate the holy month of Ramadhan with feast that comes with traditional dishes, western delights, local specialties, mouth watering kuih-muih and many more.

Varieties is one of the best attraction to Sarkies every year. 
All the way from appetizers, soups, to mains, savories, desserts and many more. 

Wide selections of Seafood on ice.

If you are lucky, you can even get to try the Snow Crab Legs which are limited and running on rotation basis. They are simply fresh, sweet and delish. 

Fresh oysters cocktail. Tasted rather refreshing with the pickles topped on the oysters.
Don't forget to savour it with some Tabasco sauce too!

Freshly sliced sashimi slices, choices are Tuna and Salmon

My favourite corner would always be the cheese counter that offers variety of cheeses.
I'm rather happy whenever I get to have blue cheese and brie.

Assorted Sushi, beautifully presented.

On this special month, the chefs from E&O Hotel also prepared some action stalls serving their specialties too.
What we have here are Roti Canai, you can order the plain roti canai, roti telur, or you can even go further and try their Roti Tissue, Roti Banana, Murtabak and many more.

A tender and juicy whole roasted lamb is definitely a must in Buka Puasa feast. Who doesn't want this in their meal while you can enjoy some freshly sliced meats that perfectly match with all the other dishes?

On the other stall, we have freshly prepared Papaya Salad by the chef.
Choose your ingredients or go with everything, it is up to you.

Grilled satay(meat skewer) with choices of chicken or beef.
Grill on the spot for the best taste.

Gulai Kawah of the day featuring Curry Flower Crab.
It is really a shame that I forgot to try this dish as I was too stuffed with all the other food I had.

Bubur Lambuk, a simple a savoury dish that everybody sure like!
It is a good dish that means sharing and be good to everybody especially this month of Ramadhan.

Next is what we must not miss, a cup of creamy and thick Teh Tarik(pull tea).
Do ask for less sweet though, for the good of your health.

On the hot dishes corner they have brought us quite a number of traditional dishes as well as Chinese style and western style delights. 
All the dishes were nicely presented, some of the highlights would be Udang Sambal Petai, Curry Sotong, not forget to mention that kind of omelette that I like the best.

They also served Tomato Rice and Fried Rice, and the Chicken Tagine was pretty good.
There were also curry kapitan, Chicken Kurma, steamed whole fish and sliced lamb as well.

Fried samosa, fish fingers and spring rolls. 

One of my favourite, Cheese Baked Oysters!
They also served this dish specially prepared by the chef, Baked Barramundi with Sambal Sauce, not a bad fusion cooking style!

Not forget to miss their roast meats especially meat lovers!
Their roasted lamb and beef is something to die for.

E&O Hotel will never fail to serve their Signature Roasted Duck.
Everytime you come to E&O Hotel this would be something you must not miss.

Moving forward to dessert section, what we can see are a spread of cakes and puddings.

Not forgetting our Muslims friends, E&O Hotel specially caters to the Ramadhan month and prepare many types of kuih-muih and made the buffet spread looks rather festive. We were delighted to find that some of the traditional cakes are rather good.

Who's a chocolate lover?
They have a 4-tier chocolate fountain here!
I would usually place all my fruits on a plate and scoop out those chocolate sauce to top on my fruits!

Other than they, you can order ice kacang / chendol from your the dessert stall and do not forget to top it up with a scoop of ice cream too!

Some of the delicious dishes I've tried on that night are being shown in pictures below.
What impressed me were the fresh mango sushi, juicy and tender sliced roasted lamb and also the whole roasted lamb. Not forgetting the all time favourite oysters, snow crab leg and roasted ducks!

They also have action counters serving pasta, just choose your own pasta and the chef will cook it on the spot with your selection of sauces too.
As for the Asian Corner, they were serving Kangkung Cuttlefish, a rather favourable local dish and there were Chick-Kut-Teh, steamed herbal soup and herbal eggs as well. These few dishes are very comforting and made you feel like you are at home enjoying these homely dish.
