Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner @ Xuan Xin Restaurant, Gurney Plaza

Chinese New Year is just around the corner.
I believe that many of you are still looking for a place to have like gathering, reunion dinner, and so many more just to gather together and have a nice meal.

Some of us are also too busy but still organizing gathering at home would be the best, so we usually grab some food from restaurants.
This year, Xuan Xin Restaurant have came up with some special promotion for all their customers.

Poon Choi is one of the Chinese New Year dishes, where it is filled with a few layers of different food like pork, prawns, abalone, duck, chicken, vegetables and etc.
Every dish in Poon Choi is representing a different good meaning for Chinese New Year.

Other than Poon Choi, there are other special dishes prepared by Xuan Xin Restaurant this year for their customers to celebrate this coming Chinese New Year.

Xuan Xin Restaurant is available at Gurney Plaza 3rd floor, and Queensbay Mall 2nd floor.

So far as I know, Xuan Xin always emphasize on their services to keep their customers happy and keep coming back

The Poon Choi ingredients are displayed at the front of their restaurant, mainly there are 13 ingredients (Abalone, Sea Cucumber, Fish Maw, Prawn, Trotter, Soy Chicken, Fuzhou Fish Ball, Seaweed, Vegetarian Goose, Cabbage, Broccoli, Mushroom, Straw Mushroom)

Here we go, Poon Choi prepared by Xuan Xin Restaurant.
It is a big bowl for 8 pax, all the ingredients are arranged nicely to bring out its meaning of Poon Choi. But mostly important, it is the sauce that makes everything boil together for a better year ahead.
This big bowl of delicious Poon Choi is priced at RM468 originally, but now Xuan Xin Restaurant is having promotions and price it at RM199 nett!
Yes! You are not reading it wrongly, it is only at RM199 nett for a Poon Choi!
Anyway, it is only available for takeaway

If you are choose to dine in a Xuan Xin Restaurant, they also have special menus for you to have your reunion meals and gathering here!
Here's this Curry Crab, served with Mantou for you to have it with the curry sauce. The crabs served here are rather fresh, and the curry sauce is so appetizing, not too spicy but just full with the great combination taste of curry. Simply delicious!

Fish is also a must in Chinese New Year dining table. It simply means Nian Nian You Yu (年年有余). It means we will have more wealth for this coming new year. The fish here is fresh, and I like the way they steam this fish. Precisely the sauce itself that have add some Hua Tiao Chiew (Chinese Cooking Wine) that made it so appetizing.

This is frog in claypot. One of their signature dish here in Xuan Xin Restaurant. I always like frog especially on the thighs part. It is because of the meat itself is rather tender and juicy. And the chef have also added some of the Hua Tiao Chiew and some herbs that made this dish taste so well and simply good!

On that night itself, the boss have also ordered some extra dishes for us, and this is one of the dishes that recommended by himself, Stir Fry Eggs with Fresh Prawns. The prawn itself is rather fresh and chewy, and the eggs are half cooked, which is my favourite style of having eggs. It would be just great to have it together with some rice.

One of my favourite, Salted Egg Tofu. Apparently I have ordered this dish again and again every time I dined at Xuan Xin Restaurant before this. I am dare to say that this is the best way to cook tofu ever! The whole piece of tofu is wrapped with salted egg, and deep fried until crispy, it just melted in your mouth the moment you eat it. Simply good!

Roasted Chicken, served with plum powder. The chicken was rather tender and juicy, and the crispy skin is also a plus point for this dish. Taste itself is just nice, not too salty. Also one of the must for CNY dining table. Only you have to becareful with the plum powder itself, adding too much could be too salty.

We are also proud that the boss himself went into the kitchen and fry a plate of delicious smelling fried rice for us. It is a plate of normal Yong Chow Fried Rice, but it is really different from what we normally had out there. Couldn't tell how different it is, but it just tasted so well that you can tell the fire, ingredients, seasoning are just perfectly added.

Xuan Xin is now having the promotion of Poon Choi until 8th February 2015 only, better make a move quick before the promotion ends!
