Pasta is one of my all time favourite.
I will usually look at the pasta menu whenever I dine at a cafe or restaurant.
Sometimes I got quite bored with the pasta menu where people are serving usual pastas like Carbonara, Bolognese, or Lasagna.
Recently I got introduced to a new cafe in Penang called DCOVA, which is located at Logan Heritage. (The previous Lighthouse Coffee).
I've been hearing a lot about that place, and finally I got time to have lunch over there with Chloe.
DCOVA's location was Lighthouse Coffee, if you have visited the place before, it shouldn't be a problem for you to locate it.
I love how they decorated their exterior with plants, making it looking rather comfortable.
DCOVA's facebook and instagram page:
Not a bad shot even from the door to the top.
Business hours:
Daily 10.00am to 10.00pm, Friday & Saturday 10.00am to 12.00am
Looking at the interior itself amazed me, it is so simple but yet beautiful
There are beverages menu on the wall, food menu is separated from the menu there.
Cakes and desserts are displayed at the cabinet, where they will have different cakes everyday.
Tea selection
I ordered a cup of Cafe Latte, my usual drink, priced at RM9.00nett. One thing good about this place is they do not charge for any service tax nor government tax. The Latte was smooth and perfectly done, and thanks to the barista for the latte art.
Ebiko Alfredo
RM 19.90
Japanese food is actually my all time favourite, therefore when I saw this on the menu, i have no doubt but to choose this. It turns out to be rather satisfying that I never though ebiko can be added into pasta and still taste so well. Seaweed is also one of the ingredient that make this pasta a perfect Italian and Japanese fusion. Highly recommended!
Carbonara
RM16.90
Chloe ordered Carbonara because she loves bacons. I would really consider a plate of carbonara in a cafe for such price is rather cheap. It was rather creamy but just nice for my liking. Sometimes when it is too creamy, I just can't finish one whole plate by myself. Highly recommended!
Gula Melaka Cheese Cake
RM11.90
The cakes are not like that what we can usually find outside. As we all know that Penang has so many cafes around, and most of them are serving more or less the same cakes. Now at least I can find something different in DCOVA. I would say that Gula Melaka has blended perfectly with cheese, but this cake is not too sweet, most of the sweetness came from Gula Melaka itself. Not a bad try!
Creme Brulee
RM13.90
Creme Brulee is one of my top favourite dessert. I've been hearing a lot of the creme brulee here until I finally get to try it here. It is as good as I heard, rather surprised by the taste of it and then this dessert would be the top reason that will bring me back to this cafe. I can rate this creme brulee is the best creme brulee that I have ever tasted so far.
Y&G
RM 8.90
The last dessert we had was this Yoghurt & Granula. A perfect dessert that we supposed to have it before meal. But thanks to the boss for this free item. The yoghurt is homemade by them, and no sugar added so it will be quite sour. Which is rather healthy and you will love it if you love yoghurt. The crispiness from Granula just went well with the Yoghurt.
DCOVA is definitely a place that I would want to return to, even just for a cup of coffee, or a slice of cake. This place is just so cozy and served as a perfect place to hang out with friends or family.
